[IEEE Ukraine Section] Deadline Extension for Applications for Individual Grants
Extended deadline for submitting applications is November 8, 2023, 11:59 PM, Kyiv time.
Dear IEEE Ukraine Section Member,
IEEE Ukraine Section, and its Chapters, are pleased to announce a call for proposals for a new grant program based on the financial results of 2022 IEEE Ukrainian Microwave Week (UkrMW). We express our gratitude to the team of volunteers, participants and all the friends of the Week for holding a successful event. This program offers individual grants in amount of $500 for one year.
The aim of the program is to support the research and professional development of scientists, engineers and students working in the field of microwave, antennas and radars with a focus on excellence, innovation and community growth. Proposals which are related to “Technical Original Research” will be evaluated based on scientific excellence as well as the usual principles of diversity and inclusion. Proposals which are related to “Historical Milestones” will be evaluated based on the historical significance of particular achievements and the possibility of forming an application for IEEE Milestone.
The call for proposals is open to researchers who:
– hold a position or study at Ukrainian Research Institute or University;
– has permanent residence (reside and staying) in Ukraine for period of project; time for short-term training or participation in foreign conferences is not taken into account;
– propose research in the field of microwave, antennas and radars.
The period of the projects is 12 months. The final report must be submitted to the Grant Program Coordinator within the last month of the project duration. Alternatively, the final report can be replaced by one or more peer-reviewed scientific paper publications with acknowledgement to this program. We highly recommend to submit a paper to the 2024 IEEE Ukrainian Microwave Week (UkrMW).
Grant recipients are individually responsible for all tax payments if any are needed.
If the applicant is not a member of the IEEE already, the applicant should include membership in the budget of the grant. In such case, the applicant should create IEEE account on the IEEE website to receive a membership number (free of charge).
Diversity (gender, age, geographical origin, etc.) is positively considered in the evaluation. All information and documents required for the application must be in English. Please, download the application form for individual grants: https://ieee.org.ua/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/IEEE_UkrMW_Grant.docx
The application should be sent by email to Grant Program Coordinator, Dr. Mykhaylo Balaban, balaban@ieee.org.ua
