[IEEE Ukraine Section] Results of Individual Grants Competition (Microwave, Antennas and Radars)
By IEEE Ukraine Section Secretary
22 February, 2024
IEEE Ukraine Section and its Subunits organized a Grant Program Competition for scientists, engineers, and students based on the financial results of IEEE Ukrainian Microwave Week (UkrMW). We express our gratitude to the team of volunteers, participants and all the friends of the Week for holding a successful event.
This competitive program provides individual grants of $500 for a one-year period. The program aims to support the research and professional development of individuals in the Microwave, Antennas and Radars.
Grant Program Coordinator received 31 applications and, through a competitive selection process, identified 12 projects to be funded in 2024. Financial support will be provided to 12 researchers, including 2 young professionals and 4 students. One project is dedicated to historical research and submission of an IEEE Milestone application. The supported projects are based in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kyiv and Lviv.
We remind all participants that grant recipients must:
– hold a position or study at Ukrainian Research Institute or University;
– have permanent residence (reside and stay) in Ukraine for a period of project; time for short-term training or participation in foreign conferences is not taken into account.
The period of the projects is 12 months. The final report must be submitted to the Grant Program Coordinator within the last month of the project duration. Alternatively, the final report can be replaced by one or more peer-reviewed scientific paper publications (or IEEE Milestone applications) with acknowledgement to this program. We highly recommend to submit a paper to the 2024 IEEE Ukrainian Microwave Week (UkrMW).
Grant recipients are individually responsible for all tax payments if any are needed.
Grant Program Coordinator: Dr. Mykhaylo Balaban, balaban@ieee.org.ua
